What is your favorite cat breed? If you said anything other than Ragdolls, then here’s the opportunity to rethink your answer. After all, Ragdolls are just the most adorable, sweet, and loving creatures ever! Their playful attitudes, furry bodies, and unique behaviors truly make them the most enjoyable pet to own.

Just like how there’s a plethora of dog breeds, cats come in a variety of breeds as well. There are Sphynxes, Persians, Tabbies, Maine Coons, Ragdolls, and… wait, Ragdolls? Aren’t they those charming, enchanting cats that can make even a cat-hater want to hug and kiss them? Yes! Ragdoll cats are one of the most popular breeds, and for good reason. I, for one, can attest to that. My Ragdoll, Jelly, has striking ocean eyes, cloud-like fur, and a demeanor that makes it even  easier to love him. Hence, this article is an account of why Ragdoll cats are the superior cat breed.

Ragdolls come in many different colors, the most common being white/cream, but there are also blue, gray, and brown variants. They also come in a variety of patterns, including Bicolor and Colorpoint, and rarer ones, such as Smoke or Silver. Ragdoll cats also have incredibly soft silk-like fur that essentially makes them huge cotton balls. Most notably, however, are purebred Ragdolls’ piercing blue eyes that make them highly appealing and beautiful to look at.

Ragdoll cats get easily attached to their  owners, and that’s not a bad thing! When you’re away they’ll probably sleep until you return, and then run up asking for cuddles and kisses. They are also known as the friendliest and cuddliest cat breed; they adore cozying on your lap or curling up next to you. When you pick them up, they go limp like a ragdoll, which is how their name originated. Besides, ragdolls are very vocal creatures. Jelly loves to purr whenever he gets head and chin scratches. He’ll also meow loudly if he wants attention or food, which has definitely caused some disturbances during the early hours!

Ragdoll cats are not only cute and friendly, but they’re also very intelligent. With some sweet treats and patience, they are able to do party tricks such  as shaking hands and following commands  that will impress all your friends. But, Ragdolls  are also straightforward creatures, as they communicate their emotions and needs to you upfront. 

Owning a cat might seem daunting, especially with all the chores that come with it. However, it is quite simple as long as you  ensure their standards are met. It is best to feed them an appropriate amount of high moisture and high protein foods to ensure that they maintain proper nutrition . Furthermore, it is recommended to play with your cat at least once a day, especially kittens. Other habits, such as regularly going to the vet and cleaning them, can guarantee your Ragdoll living a happy and healthy life. 

Ultimately, Ragdoll cats are more than just cute pets– they are trusty companions capable of love and affection. From their shining blue eyes to their soft, cuddling fur, Ragdoll cats have a way of making your day more  special. If you’re still hesitant about cats, one look at a Ragdoll might be all it takes to change your mind.
